Circuit Makati keeps the community close to its heart through its community outreach programs.
On the weekend of September 1 and 2, students from select barangays of Makati were in for a musical treat at the Power Mac Center Spotlight, Circuit Makati’s 300-seater blackbox theater. Repertory Philippines, in partnership with Ayala Land, Alveo Land and Circuit Makati, performed an exclusive 2-day-only run of their newest children’s musical, My Suite Princess.
The Barredo Family and Professor Nelia Sarcol of Centre for International Education were also two noted benefactors who made the event possible through their grants.
For the second time around, Circuit Makati and its partners, offered this live theater experience for indigent children and families of Makati to inspire in them an interest in culture and the arts. Last year, in the same venue, the theater company delighted audiences with The Glitter Trap.
Young talents from REP’s 2018 Teen Masterclass starred in the musical production written and directed by Joel Trinidad and Nicky Triviño, with musical direction by Onyl Torres, music by Rony Fortich, and choreography by PJ Rebullida.
The musical masterpiece took the audience to the Argent Hotel in 1955, where the chambermaid Lily (Michelle Cornejo) pretends to be a princess and meets a man she thinks is the hotel manager. Severino (Rafael Jimenez) is actually a photographer in disguise wanting to snap a picture of the mysterious and elusive Princess Tatiana (Regine Torres) and her world-famous diamond necklace.
Indeed, it was another weekend to remember in Circuit Makati, as the smiles on the children’s faces could attest.
